The women’s Pastor at my church has EIGHT kiddos and recently wrote a book about the importance of embracing the originality in each. Though she wasn’t specifically addressing those of you who are transgender, I’d like to pass on something she wrote, because YOU ARE an original as well…

“When I embrace and live out the originalities God has placed in me, it means not everybody is going to get it.

Not everyone is going to approve.

And, certainly, not everybody is going to like me.
Which, I’m learning, is just fine.
Because God loves me.
And His plan for my life doesn’t involve making everyone happy. Sometimes, we have to choose.
We can be the originals He intended us to be.
Or we can have the approval of others.

But we usually can’t have both.
So.
Today.
Let’s choose original.
Let’s honor our Creator.
Let’s lay down comparison and pick up the celebration of His very good plan and His ingenious story lines and His powerful expression.

Each of us is an original.“
